Hello and welcome! My name is Kimberly McGuinness-Rook, Founder of InnerBirth. I'm a Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Midwife in the state of Wisconsin, specializing in out of hospital birth. I have a strong passion for birth work that has yet to dim its flame. With experience ranging from home birth, hospital birth, and birthing centers, I have had the honor of witnessing hundreds of births. In 2009 my midwifery calling took me half way across the world to offer service to the women and families of Malawi, Africa. I will be forever changed by that experience and hope to return again someday to see the smiling faces of Malawi's beautiful people. That experience ignited deep within me the love for serving as a midwife internationally in developing nations. I greatly look forward to the next time I can serve again in this capacity. My practice approach is evidence based, holistic and individual. The name "InnerBirth" echoes the nature of my own beliefs surrounding the experience and process of pregnancy, childbirth & parenting. Much of our work begins within. As your midwife I'm here to assist you not only with the clinical aspect of our work together but to see you for the unique individual that you are, assisting you along the way to make this an exciting and empowering experience for all involved (including your baby)! I fundamentally believe in the power of birth and its ability to transform and shape families as well as our world as a whole. I continuously strive to not only support but empower the families that I serve. Waterbirth is another area that I consider myself extremely experienced and knowledgeable in and am thrilled to be able to offer this option to interested families. In my personal life I'm a mother to five extraordinary children, four biological and one incredible step daughter. My first child was born at a hospital and my last three born at home in water. It is the birth of my children that has ultimately led me down this path and I'm eternally grateful for each of my experiences. I'm also blessed to have an amazingly wonderful and supportive Partner, Kevin who supports me in all my visions. Some of my personal interest’s lay in Women's health, Pre & Peri Natal Psychology, Energy work, Natural living, World travel, and Hoop Dancing.

My name is Andrea Bukiewicz. My journey into midwifery began in 2008 while training to become a certified doula with ALACE. My love for women and the empathy I have accepted has assisted me down this path. I feel our culture’s disillusion towards birth is harming an amazing gift we are blessed with, the ability to create and nourish another living being. Choosing to birth in such a way that honors the process is life changing and my desire is to protect this rite of passage. In 2009 I established my own doula business, The Barefoot Doula, and have taken my fascination with placentas a bit further by sharing the art of placenta preparation. Along with my 6 years of breastfeeding experience, I have also been trained as a breastfeeding educator and adore the bond a nursing mother and her child create. I believe in the power of women mentoring women. This belief has naturally seeped into motherhood where my two unschooled children can often be seen wildcrafting along my side. My own introduction into the healing arts and feminine teaching looked very similar with my grandmother sharing her eucalyptus remedies & stories with me. Her gift began the preparation of what was to come and helped cultivate my spirit and trade. On any given day you might find me growing food, getting tattooed, cycling with my husband or preparing for our travels.

I’m excited to share my passion for nurturing women during their childbearing years and begin on my path to become a midwife. In 2008, I became a DONA certified doula, and have been honored to attend births as Mama the Mama. I believe that the birth process flows best when families are cared for, loved on and made to feel safe. It is my strong desire to bring this to families I assist and to carry it over into their postpartum time as well. I have experience breastfeeding my own children, and believe that my positive birth experiences helped me to bond with my babies and breastfeed them. I have surrounded myself with natural healers, mothers and women that support and share the vision for peaceful birth and beyond, and I love sharing that with others. I have an amazing husband that supports the crazy hours I keep, and two free spirited children who share my passion for snuggling new babies. Together, we spend our time tending our garden and exploring all the interesting flora and fauna near our quiet country home.
